P90X Lean Challenges

First Two Weeks on P90X

I’ve heard several P90X customers say that the first two weeks are the hardest. I also experienced some difficulties during the first two weeks of the P90X exercise program. There is something about those first two weeks that is mentally as well as physically taxing. Perhaps it’s just starting a new routine. I’m sure everyone has their own reasons. About the P90X workouts themselves, I found it easy to burn out if I overexerted myself. I was doing moves that I have never done before and was discouraged about not performing well the first time. I found after 90 days that it really didn’t matter if you did well the first time as long as you continued.

This is the commit portion of the P90X recipe. How did I overcome the mental fatigue? By watching other P90X success stories, P90X before and after videos and reminding myself why I was doing this in the first place. I found the P90X workout videos themselves to be entertaining and motivating. Not to say that I didn’t experience mental or emotional challenges after the first two weeks, but I do recall things getting a bit easier, as many things do once a routine is developed.

Extra Curricular Activities

It has been years since my college experience, yet I still have the urge to go to bars, drink, smoke cigarettes, eat fast food and hang out with friends. Let’s just be real now, I like to party. So I did. Truthfully, I don’t go out that often but if I do, it is a vicious cycle. It starts with drinking, smoking then fast food binging. It doesn’t take a genius to know that the calorie intake of alcohol plus various brands of fast food violates the strict regimen of the P90X nutrition plan. I have been a casual smoker for some time now and can feel the negative effects of it during my workouts. Again, a common sense thing that I did not have the discipline to quit during the P90X Lean Program. My Plan is to completely quit smoking and drinking when I begin P90X Classic. It will be interesting to see what happens since a friend of mine is getting married soon and a bachelor party is quickly approaching on the horizon…

P90x Nutrition Plan

For starters, I did not stick to the P90X nutrition plan exactly. Ok, not at all really. This is definitely something I still struggle with everyday. I mostly eat clean during the week because I have developed the habit of planning out my meals. However, sometimes the fat boy takes over and the urges get the best of me. I feel if I took the diet more seriously my results would have been more dramatic. My plan is to completely rededicate once I start P90X Classic

What I like about P90X Exercise Program

I see the P90X Exercise Program as a system, a well thought out system, that was developed by a combination of well experienced Fitness Professionals. It takes the guess work out of what to do each day by planning out the workouts on the P90X Calendar. Going to the gym can sometimes be monotonous because it is easy to develop your own routine and stick with it. Sometimes, it makes sense to mix things up. That’s what the P90X Exercise Program has done by always keeping you off balance. If I was to give a P90X Review or rate the program, I would give it an A+. My effort however, a B – at most!
