P90X Classic Day 7

P90X Workout: X-Stretch or Rest

  • Equipment: mat

On this day I chose rest. One of the pleasures in my life is eating at my parent’s house. There is always an abundance of food. A habit I need to break is rummaging through their refrigerator. Being a fat boy at heart, seeing unmarked to-go boxes excites me… is that weird? It’s like when a smoker finds an abandoned or unattended pack of cigarettes, they have to pick it up and shake it. In my case, I have to open up that to-go box to see if what’s in it matches my wishful thinking. Sometimes it’s some crazy Filipino dish like squid spaghetti and other times it’s chicken wings.

Luckily for me, it was chicken wings this time. I was pretty relaxed on the diet this weekend. It has been a week today since I had a drink or a cigarette. I feel great about the obvious health benefits but also the discipline I am gaining through this. The funny thing is that I haven’t really even craved a cigarette or a drink. Maybe the trick is not focusing on quitting smoking or drinking, but focusing on being more healthy. If that makes sense…

My P90X Diet

  • Meal 1: 3 eggs, 1 wheat bagel, watermelon, strawberries, banana, coffee (black)
  • Meal 2: egg, whole wheat toast
  • Meal 3: pancit (Filipino noodles), carrots, string beans, corn, 1 egg roll, cup of soy milk, 3 chicken wings, 1 pork chop
  • Meal 4: watermelon, wheat Ritz crackers, spinach soup
