Is “A Very Berry Delight,” an accurate way to describe the Greenberry Shakeology Flavor? In my opinion, it is “Very Berry,” but not so much a “delight” in regards to taste. I’ve been along time auto shipper of the Chocolate Shakeology flavor mainly because it tastes good right out of the box. It’s not “milk shake” delicious, but for a healthy shake with lots of great stuff in it, it’s quite tasty. I’ve experimented with many different meal replacements and protein shakes. From my experience, the only other shake I’ve had that tastes better than the Chocolate Flavor of Shakeology is a product called Muscle Milk. But Muscle Milk doesn’t have all the other the other healthy exotic ingredients that Shakeology has.

Variety is the spice of life and I like to mix things up a bit. I’ve never tried the Greenberry flavor before so I decided to give it a shot. I realize this is not going to win me any popularity contests…but in my opinion, the Greenberry Shakeology Flavor tastes pretty bad out of the box. I’m not even sure of the right words to describe the taste…bitter? It does blend well and creates that nice smoothie texture, but I have been chugging it down pretty fast so the taste doesn’t linger too long on my taste buds. There was one unexpected advantage I experienced with the Greenberry Flavor, I didn’t get gas like I did with the Chocolate flavor. Has anyone else experienced this before?

However, the great minds working at BeachBody were a few steps ahead of me. Included in the Greenberry Shakeology package was a book by Darin Olien which talks about the “Adventures in gathering the gifts of the earth that make Shakeology” and a list of Greenberry and Chocolate Recipes.

Since my experience with the Greenberry Shakeology Flavor by itself was not a pleasant one, I wanted to share these recipes on how to make it taste better. Enjoy!

For each one of these recipes, add 1 serving of Greenberry Shakeology and ice to taste to the ingredients listed. Mix in a blender to get that creamy smoothie texture. You can try using different kinds of milk (rice, skim, almond, regular etc.)
